Obituary: James Patrick ‘Pat’ Miller, 61, Bardstown

James Patrick “Pat” Miller, 61, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 23, 1956, to the late Charles William Miller and Mildred Lynch Miller-Troutman. He was a 19-year employee of the Nelson County School district, an avid golfer, and a devoted husband and father.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Charles Lee and Alice Miller; and his niece, Charlotte Hayden.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Deborah “Debbie” Miller; two daughters, Patricia “Tricia” (Mark) Brackett and Alina (James) Williams, both of Elizabethtown; one son, Christopher “Chris” (Robin) Ritchie of Bardstown; two sisters, Linda (Sam) Lawrence of Edgewood and Sara (Jack) Clements of Bardstown; six grandchildren, Samantha Miller, James Miller, Madalyn Ritchie, Nalani Ritchie, Taylor Brackett, and Madison Brackett; a nephew he considered a brother, Charles Michael “Mike” Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to the American Lung Cancer Foundation.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
