Obituary: John David Hall, 68, Bardstown
John David Hall, 68, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, in Bardstown. He was born Nov. 8, 1948, in Bardstown to the late Charles M. and Mary Woodard Downs Hall. He was a retired employee of Bird & Son, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a former National Guardsman. He loved to fly airplanes, it was his first love.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Downs Hall; two sons, Amos (Michelle) Hall and Wyatt (Kraft) Hall, both of Louisville; two sisters, Carole (Tommy) Shelburne of Cox’s Creek and Terri (Stan) Robinson of Bardstown; one brother, Charles Guy (Janice) Hall of New Haven; and four grandchildren, Elijah, Leah, Anna and Nate Hall.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Jeffrey Leger and Rev. Mark Spalding officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with a prayer service Sunday evening.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
