Obituary: Dorothy Margaret Scott Brown, 88, formerly of Gleanings

Dorothy Margaret Scott Brown, 88, of Louisville, formerly of Gleanings, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at Baptist Hospital in Louisville. She was a member of Rolling Fork Baptist Church and retired at age 83 as a tax preparer for H&R Block after more than 30 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Brown; one son, Mark English Brown; her parents, David English and Margaret Elizabeth Uptegrove Scott; and two brothers, James Scott and David Scott.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra Johnson of Bardstown and Becky (Jay) Stewart of Louisville; two sons, Steve Brown Sr. of Louisville and Tim (Kirsten) Brown of Elizabethtown; one daughter-in-law, Sandie Brown of Mount Washington; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren whom she adored; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Dr. Dwayne Howell and the Rev. Jay Stewart officiating. Burial is in the Buffalo Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
