Obituary: George William Ebrecht, 70, Bardstown

George William Ebrecht, 70, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 30, 1946, in Merryville, Mo., to the late George Will and Linda Hamilton Ebrecht. He was a retired mechanic for Smith Brothers Trucking and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Ebrecht and Fred Ebrecht.

He is survived by two daughters, Sabrina Rivera and Heather Garrett, both of Louisville; one son, Lee Ebrecht of Bardstown; two sisters, Shirley Sanders of Quitman, Mo. and Mary Riley of Merryville, Mo.; five brothers, Charles Ebrecht of Barnard, Mo., Clarence Ebrecht of Merryville, Mo., Virgil Ebrecht of Evansville, Ind., Louis Ebrecht of Titus, Ala., and Richard Ebrecht of Merryville, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.

A non-ceremonial cremation was chosen by the family. There will be no public visitation or funeral.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements.
