Obituary: Annie Laurie Parrott Dillard, Bardstown
Annie Laurie Parrott Dillard, Bardstown, died Oct. 8, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family after courageously fighting both debilitating rheumatoid arthritis and cancer.
She was born in Lebanon and was the daughter of the late Evan H “Shyne” & Elizabeth “Liz” Noe Parrott of Lebanon. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and spent her professional career caring for others in their time of need in Louisville, Bowling Green and Danville before settling in Bardstown.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth B Dillard Jr.; two daughters, Deborah Dillard Norris (Jacob) of Bardstown and Kathryn Dillard Blevins (Chad) of Sammamish, Wa.; one son, Patrick Dillard (Dawn), of Bardstown; one stepdaughter, Laurie Johnson of Louisville; one stepson, Kenneth B Dillard III of Cincinnati; four sisters, Peggy Feige (Edmund) of Annandale, Va, Betty Barnett (Lee) of Alexander City, Ala., Sue Winfield (Dave) of Fairfax, Va., and Rita Parrott of Campbell, Calif.; one brother, Col. (ret) Evan H. Parrott Jr. (Ellie) of Ashburn, Va.; five much-loved grandchildren,Josh Dillard, Madeline Sims, Nicholas Sims, Benjamin Sims and Olivia Blevins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to the skilled and thoughtful employees of Signature Healthcare at Colonial Rehab & Wellness Center, and especially for the care and many kindnesses given by the staff of Hospice of Nelson County.
The funeral and Mass of Catholic faith is 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Joe Batcheldor officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Hospice of Nelson County.
