Obituary: Darrell Eugene Underwood, 85, LaRue County
Darrell Eugene Underwood, 85, of Campbellsville Road in LaRue County, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at his residence. He retired in 1994 from the Kentucky Transportation Department in Hardin County with 32 years of service. He was a farmer and member of Corinth Baptist Church. He had a great sense of humor and a love of music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Ida Bray Underwood; two sisters, Lillie Skaggs and Virginia Buley; and three brothers, Paul Underwood, Richard Underwood and Thomas Underwood.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Hash Underwood; two daughters, Jeannie Lynn Underwood and Cindy Lee (Michael) Phelps, both of Bardstown; three grandsons, Holden Underwood, Brett Phelps and Luke Phelps; one stepgrandson, Matthew (Brittany) Phelps; one stepgranddaughter, Nichole Phelps; one stepgreat-grandson, Rowan Phelps; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, at the Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Maggard officiating. Burial is in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville, and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the church.
