Obituary: May Dell Staton, 88, Bardstown

MAY DELL STATON

May Dell Staton, 88, of Bardstown, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Lebanon to the late Mack and Phoebe Mann Staton. She was a retired employee of the former Bardstown Butte Knit Sewing Factory, Design Craft and Pats Alterations. She was a member of Wickland Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nellie Lanham and Frances Margaret Staton; and two brothers, Everett Staton and Hubert Staton.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Pauline Staton of Bardstown; one niece, Catherine Carey; two nephews, Owen Lanham and Charles Staton; and several great nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis King officiating. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.

Visitation is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family requests expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to Wickland Baptist Church.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements.
