Obituary: Janet Madaline Hutcherson Marcum, 70, Magnolia

Janet Madaline Hutcherson Marcum, 70, of Magnolia, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at UK Healthcare in Lexington with her family by her side. She was born Feb. 1, 1947 in Hardin County to Eugene and Geneva Mae Hornback Hutcherson. She was a member of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed genealogy and belonged to the Historical Society. She belonged to the Homemakers where she received woman of the year. She loved quilting and was an award-winning basketmaker, having won grand champion at the Kentucky State Fair.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Mae Hornback Hutcherson.

She is survived by her husband, James Harold Marcum of Magnolia; one daughter, Susan Marcum of Priceville; two sons, Harold B. (Vonetta) Marcum of Magnolia and the Rev. Frederick Daniel (Laura) Marcum of Greensburg; three sisters, Patsey Saddler, Marie (Danny) Puckett, and Eugenia (John) Mills, all of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 11 .am. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel with Bro. Melvin Morrtisen and Bro. Lee Warf officiating with burial in the South Fork Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel, 612 N. Lincoln Blvd, Hodgenville is in charge of arrangements.
