Obituary: Leonard C. ‘Buddy’ Ford, 80, New Haven

Leonard C. “Buddy” Ford, 80, of New Haven, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at Signature at Colonial Health and Rehab in Bardstown. He was born Oct. 26, 1936 to the late Jacob O. “J.O.” and Jessie Woolum Ford. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church in Bardstown. He owned and operated Ford’s Barber Shop in New Haven for many years, retiring just recently.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Brown Ford; and one sister, Elizabeth Ann Ford Wilson.

He is survived by three daughters, Debbie (Delton) Drake of Bloomfield, Sherry Ford Mouser of Bardstown, and Christy (Pat) DeWitt of New Haven; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven, with Mill Creek Baptist Church pastor the Rev. Ray Johnson officiating.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, and 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic services at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home officiated by the Dunavan Masonic Lodge No. 292 F.A.M. in Boston.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
