Obituary: Glenda Fay Parrent, 70, of Bardstown

Glenda Fay Parrent, 70, of Bardstown, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at her residence. She was born July 30, 1947, in Bourbon County to the late Calvin Cook and Jane Sprake Osborne. She was a former director for the Bardstown Senior Citizens Center and deeply loved her family, friends, her dog Dora, and working puzzles and watching Wheel of Fortune.

She is survived by four daughters, Georgann (Joseph) Culver and Crystal Parrent, both of Bardstown, Lynn (Tony) Burkhead of Willisburg, and Mona (Ted) Boehm of Lexington; three sons, Jimbo Parrent and Jason (Jennifer) Parrent, both of Bardstown, and Joe Parrent of Campbellsville; three sisters, her twin sister, Brenda (Kenny) Prince of Prospect, Janie (Jim) Dumas of Winchester, and Mary Osborne of Louisville; two brothers, Calvin (Linda) Osborne of Carlisle and Julian Osborne of Winchester; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road with Bro. Jewell Brock officiating with burial in Clarmont Memorial Gardens in Winchester.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Nelson County.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
