Obituary: Helen Izelle ‘Nonnie’ Morris, 95, Bloomfield

Helen Izelle “Nonnie” Morris, 95, of Bloomfield, entered eternity Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, with her family at her side. She was born Feb. 7, 1922, in Chaplin to the late Ruel and Myrtle Terrell Richardson. She was a member of the Chaplin Christian Church Disciples of Christ and also attended the Bloomfield Christian Church Disciples of Christ. She was a homemaker, a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the Missionary Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Morris; one sister, Gladys Ethel Richardson; two brothers, Kenneth and Clinton Richardson; one sister-in-law, Wanda Richardson; two brothers-in-law, Walter Lee Hood and William Lewis; and one son-in-law, Eugene Broaddus.

She is survived by one daughter, Paula Broaddus of Bloomfield; two sisters, Nancy Lewis of Louisville and Thelma Hood of Lawrenceburg; one brother, Elwood Richardson of Mount Washington; one sister-in-law, Lorine Richardson of Bardstown; one grandson, Craig Broaddus, both of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with burial in the Highview Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at the funeral home.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Gideon’s International or Samaritan’s Purse.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
