Obituary: Charles Acie Evans Sr., 68, Bloomfield

Charles Acie Evans Sr., 68, of Bloomfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, at his residence. He was born June 16, 1949, in Decatur, Ill., to the late Acie and Margaret Mattingly Evans. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a former employee of Leggett & Platt Manufacturing and John Riley Auto Service.

He is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Jimmie) Skaggs and Donna Hancock, both of Louisville; two sons, Charles (Samantha) Evans Jr. of Louisville, and Lloyd Jack Evans of Bloomfield; two sisters, Maxine (Ray) Poteet of Louisville and JoAnn Cobb of Supply, N.C.; two brothers, Frankie (Charolette) Evans of Louisville and Eddie (Lilly) Evans of Carrollton; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen by the family. There will be no public services.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
