Obituary: Charles Burdix Nation Jr, 72, Taylorsville

Charles Burdix Nation Jr, 72, of Taylorsville, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. He was born March 14, 1945, in Spencer County to the late Charles Burdix and Mamie Ellen Jackson Nation Sr. He was a self-employed mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Graves Nation; four daughters, Ronda (Terry) Palmer of Jeffersontown, Kathy (Mike) Cotton of Bardstown, and Nancy (Tommy) Lewis and Tina (Robert) Nation, both of Taylorsville; five sons, Charles “Bubby” (Debbie) Nation of Chaplin, Chris (Charlene) Graves, Andrew (Megan) Nation and Westley (Brittany) Nation, all of Taylorsville, and Dale (Gayle) Nation of Lebanon; one sister, Dorothy (James) Hardin of Taylorsville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville with the Rev. Ann New officiating with burial in Elk Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements.
