New Haven man injured in early morning Balltown Road crash

Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 — A New Haven man was injured early Friday morning in an single-vehicle crash in the 2900 block of Balltown Road.

According to a press release from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, at about 6:30 Friday morning, police, the New Hope Fire Department and Nelson County EMS were dispatched to 2922 Balltown Road for an injury accident with the vehicle on fire.

By the time first-responders arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and the car’s driver, James Hall, 18, of New Haven, was out of the vehicle. Hall was treated at the scene by EMS and transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment of injuries. New Hope firefighters extinguished the fire, which damaged also damaged a utility pole.

Lt. Kaelen Matthews of the Nelson County Sheriff’s Department investigated the accident.
