Cox’s Creek area home destroyed in Friday morning blaze

Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 — The Nelson County Fire Department responded Friday morning to a reported structure fire on Gambrell Lane, a private road located off Hobbs Lane in the Cox’s Creek community.

At about 10 a.m. Friday, a Cox’s Creek Lane resident reported seeing a possible structure fire in the direction of Hobbs Lane. Responding firefighters reported seeing a large column of smoke while they were en route to the fire location. Firefighters tracked the smoke and located the fire on Gambrell Lane. The home was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived. No one was inside the home at the time.

Nelson County firefighters were assisted by the Northeast Nelson Fire Department on the scene. /Firefighters were on the scene until about 1 p.m.
