Bardstown man perishes Friday afternoon in backyard shed blaze

Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 — Fire and police officials investigated the death of a Bardstown man who is believed to have perished Friday afternoon in a fire that destroyed a shed in the 100 block of Sunset Drive.
According to a press release from the Bardstown Fire Department, crews were dispatched for a shed on fire on Sunset Drive at about 2:52 p.m. Friday. The first fire crews arrived within four minutes, and reported heavy smoke and flames visible from the shed.
While firefighters worked to contain the fire, the body of the homeowner was found inside the shed. The Bardstown Police Department and the state fire marshal’s office were requested to assist with the death investigation.
Crews were on the scene for about four hours.
