Obituary: Elton Davis, 75, Chaplin
Elton Davis, 75, of Chaplin, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at his residence. He was born Jan. 12, 1942, in Washington County to the late Elvin and Dorothy Terrell Davis. He was a farmer, construction worker, logger, a member of the Chaplin Baptist Church, and an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Whitten.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Case Davis; six 6 daughters, Brenda Johnston, Beverly Robinson, Charlene Lewis, Carrie Sea, Sue (Danny) Yeager, all of Lawrenceburg, and Sheila (Roger) Tingle of Bloomfield; one a sister, Barbara (Gerald) Boblitt of Chaplin; one brother, Allen (Sadie) Davis of Lawrenceburg; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro Winfred Hagerman and Bro. Mike Thompson officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at the funeral home.
The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
