Obituary: William Joseph ‘Bill’ Hagan, 81, Bloomfield

WILLIAM JOSEPH “BILL” HAGAN

William Joseph “Bill” Hagan, 81, of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, in Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born March 16, 1936 in Bloomfield to the late Joe and Helen “Tennie” Waldridge Hagan. He was an employee of General Electric for 40 years, a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church. He loved UK athletics and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Long; two brothers, Ernest C. “Rusty” “Bud” Hagan and Bobby Hagan.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Royalty Hagan; one daughter, Karen Hagan of Bardstown; two sons, Gary (Tammy) Hagan of Bloomfield and Michael (Rose Ann) Hagan of Bardstown; three sisters, Bonnie (Jerry) Stevens, Dolly (Bobby) Parks and Janet (Bobby Ray) Burgin, all of Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Ryan Hagan, Ashley Langoski and Alex Hagan; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. David Royalty, Bro. Matt Thompson and Bro. Mark Speakman officiating. Burial is in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at the funeral home.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Nelson County.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
