Alcohol suspected in Saturday night Loretto Road single-vehicle injury crash

Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 — One person was injured Saturday night in a single-vehicle accident on KY 49, Loretto Road near its intersection with Terrapin Lane.

According to a Nelson County Sheriff’s Office press release, officers arrived at the scene of the accident at about 9:49 p.m. Witnesses said a vehicle operated by William Willett ran over two mailboxes and ended up off the roadway in a wooded area. Willett was treated for injuries at the scene by Nelson County EMS and then transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment. Willett was cited for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc., and possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle.
