Obituary: Charles J. Chesser, 74, Louisville
Charles J. Chesser, 74, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, Nov. 17, 2017. He was a deacon at the Family Worship Center – Church of God of Prophecy, a retiree of Ford Motor Co., and former president of the Lions Club International. He was very proud of his service for the American Red Cross, especially his service with disaster relief.
Among those who preceded him in death include his parents, Hobert and Irene Chesser; one sister, Christine Chesser; and one brother, Albert Chesser.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Brenda Chesser; one daughter, Tammy Chesser Brant (Larry); one son, Tony Chesser (Helen); two sisters, Lucille Chesser (Wilmer) and Aileen Stevens; two brothers, Harold Chesser (Barbara) and Darrell Chesser (Betty); four grandchildren, Corey Brant (Natasha), Carey Brant, Casey Brant and Joey Samples (Andrea); one great-grandson, Braxton John Charles Brant; his best friend of 30 years, Walt Spillman; and a host of many other dear family and friends.
The memorial service is 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at New Covenant Church of God (1272 Gilmore Ln., Louisville, KY).
Visitation is 3:30-4 p.m. Monday at the church.
The Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
