SISTER. SUSAN HOWARD, SL

Sister Susan Howard, S.L., 89, of Nerinx, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary. She was born Aug. 28, 1928, to John W. and Mary Annette Madden Howard of Springfield and was raised in Lebanon. She entered religious life in 1947 and received her final vows in 1953. She earned her a bachelor’s degree in education from Loretto Heights College in Denver. Her assignments were located in Illinois, California, Colorado, Texas, Missouri, Alabama and Louisville. She retired to the Loretto Motherhouse in 1995.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at the Loretto Motherhouse Church in Nerinx. Burial is in the church cemetery.

A wake will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, at the motherhouse.

The Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
