Obituary: Mary Lois Greenwell Harned, 86, formerly of Lyons Station

Mary Lois Greenwell Harned, 86, of Louisville, formerly of Lyons Station, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. She was a member of the St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. She worked 46 years for Elizabethtown Laundry and Dry Cleaning in the uniform department. She was born July 22, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Thomas Gonza and Inex Philomena Hagan Greenwell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Marion Harned; one son, William Paul Harned; three sisters, Janice Bailey, Wanda Donaghy and Carol Isaacs; four brothers, Donald Greenwell, Junior Greenwell, Noel Greenwell and Reggie Greenwell.

Survivors include four daughters, Jeanette (Barry) Anderson, Kathy (Steve) Alexander, Debbie (Harrell) Tague, all of Louisville, and Betty Tomes of Guston; one son, Fred (Sandy) Harned of Lyons Station; one brother, Jimmy Greenwell of California; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Scott Wimsett officiating.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, and 8-10 a.m. Wednesday, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St. in New Haven. Prayers are 6 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home with the Rev. Troy Overton, paster of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Jeffersontown, officiating.
