Bardstown man dies in head-on Sunday night crash in Floyd County, Ind.

Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 — A Bardstown man was killed Sunday night in a head-on crash that happened at about 8:30 p.m. on Highway 111 near Gap Hollow Road in Floyd County, Ind.
According to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Joseph Simpson, 31, of Bardstown, died after his 2002 Toyota pickup truck was struck by a Ford Explorer driven by Schuyler Benjamin, 27, of Indianapolis,
Police say Benjamin was traveling north on Highway 111 when he crossed the center line and struck Simpson’s southbound pickup truck. Both drivers died at the scene.
The preliminary investigation states that Benjamin’s vehicle was passing in a no passing zone at the time of the crash. The crash closed the roadway for more than three hours.
