One injured in Thursday morning rollover crash near Hardin-Nelson County line

Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 — One person was injured Thursday morning in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Boston Road near the Hardin County Line.

Nelson County EMS, the Boston Fire Department and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 13000 block of Boston Road about 9 a.m. for an injury accident. The first officer on the scene found that an SUV had left the roadway and rolled an unknown number of times, coming to rest upside down in a creek. The victim, a 79-year-old female, was trapped in the vehicle and partly submerged in the water.

Boston firefighters were assisted by the Bardstown Fire Department and firefighters from Hardin County with helping free the victim from her vehicle.

The victim was treated at the scene by EMS and then transported to a landing zone to meet a medical helicopter. The woman was flown to University Hospital in Louisville for treatment of her injuries.
