Obituary: Mary Ann Simms Sloane, 64, Lebanon
Mary Ann Simms Sloane, 64, of Lebanon, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at Baptist Hospital East Palliative Care Unit after battling ovarian cancer for more than three years. She was her family’s sweetheart and Christmas angel born on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 1952.
She was the first born child of Louis and Betty Jo Simms of Loretto and now joins them in heavenly peace. She was a member of the Sloane family for 20 years and cherished them and family memories. She loved her job in X-ray services and mammography for more than 40 years. She received Taylor Regional Hospital Employee of the Year for 2016 and held her work family close to her heart. She enjoyed playing games and visiting with her immediate and extended family. She treasured a beach trip to Cancun with her children for the past few summers.
She was known for her patient soul, giving heart and kind words. Everyone was touched by her sweet disposition. She cared for her parents and family with immense devotion. Our Christmas angel will be greatly missed, but will continue to shine down on us from heaven.
We are thankful for many wonderful years with Mary Ann.
