Obituary: Joe L. Vanhoozer, 94, Shepherdsville

Joe L. Vanhoozer, 94, of Shepherdsville, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at his home with his family by his side. He was a retired millwright with International Harvester.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Parsley Vanhoozer; his parents, Clinton and Clara Vanhoozer; and one stepdaughter, Shirley Wilson.

He is survived by one daughter, Judith Vanhoozer of Bardstown; three sons, Joe L. Vanhoozer Jr. of Laconia, Ind., Darrell Vanhoozer (Rhonda) of Gainesville, Texas, and Gary Vanhoozer (his special daughter in law Gladys) of Shepherdsville; three stepdaughters, Betty Wilson, Mary Sanders and Carol Scaulk; one stepson, James Wilson; one sister, Dorothy Smith of Fairdale; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at the Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with burial in the Pennsylvania Run Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at the funeral home.

The Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville is in charge of arrangements.
