Obituary: Mamie Rose Mattingly Fulkerson, 91, Bardstown
Mamie Rose Mattingly Fulkerson, 91, of Bardstown, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born April 29, 1926, in Washington County. She was a retired bus driver for the Nelson County Board of Education for 37 years. She attended St. Thomas Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mattingly; special companion, Mason Fulkerson; one daughter, Diane Clark; one son, Terry Fulkerson; her parents, Carl and Mary Rose Newton; and one sister, Mary Horton.
She is survived by eight children, Kenneth Mattingly, Sandy Stone (J.R.), and Janie Fulkerson (Ron), all of Bardstown, Joyce Rakowitz (Robert) of Houston, Mary Susanne Janes of Nazareth, Donna Lewis (Carl) of Cox’s Creek, Pattie Berry (Ronnie) of Loretto, and Norma Black (Wally) of Elizabethtown; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home with the Rev. Rodney Lynch officiating. Burial is in St. Gregory Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017, and 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A prayer service is 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may go to the Humane Society of Nelson County.
