Obituary: James A. ‘Jim’ Parker, 74, Bardstown

JAMES A. “JIM” PARKER

James A. “Jim” Parker, 74, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, with his family in Bardstown. He was born Aug. 24, 1943, in Magnolia. He was a retired factory representative for Bil-Jax, and a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in Vietnam; He was a member of Bardstown Baptist Church. He enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, golf, and flying small engine planes. He especially loved spending time and sharing stories with his friends at Maywood.

He is survived by his parents, Allen and Bernice Parker of Bardstown; one sister, Beckie (Ken) Hatfield of Bardstown; one brother, Mike Parker of Napa, Calif.; one niece, Sarah Hatfield of Seattle; and three nephews, Jeremy Parker, Noah Parker and Logan Parker.

The funeral is 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at Barlow Funeral Home with Carl Malz and Dr. Randal Pollock officiating.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to Flaget Cancer Center and Project Hope.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
