Obituary: Mabel Louise Collins Snider Harned, 79, Boston

MABEL LOUISE COLLINS SNIDER HARNED

Mabel Louise Collins Snider Harned, 79, of Boston, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at University Hospital in Louisville. She was born April 19, 1938, to the late Joseph Walter and Edna LaVerne Washburn Collins. She was a homemaker and cashier for the Lebanon Junction truck stop for many years. She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist church in Boston. She was a member and past president of the KEHA. She was also a member of the NVON and held office and parliamentarian. She was a wife, mother, sister, niece, sister-in-law and friend.

She was preceded in death by one brother, James Emby Collins.

She is survived by her husband, Conrad S. Harned of Boston; two sons, Stephen Snider of Bloomfield and Stuart Snider of Jeffersonville, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Marie Harned of Boston and Gail Floyd of Miami, Fla.; three sisters, Bessie Collins, Sue Hodge and Martha Fern (Jerry) Hutchins, all of Bardstown; one brother, Joseph Walter (Narelle) Collins Jr. of Bardstown; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Boston Chapel, 122783 Boston Rd., Boston with the Rev. Darren Chatman, pastor of Mount Moriah Baptist Church officiating. Burial is in the Mount Moriah Church cemetery in Boston.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, and 8:30 a.m.- 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Boston.

In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy be made in her memory to the Boston Community Center.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
