Obituary: Pastor Navy Evan Keeling I, 58, Taylorsville

Pastor Navy Evan Keeling I, 58, of Taylorsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at his home. He was born Dec. 19, 1958, in Shelby County to late James Everett and Barbara “Bobbi” Beeler Keeling. He was a truck driver and an associate pastor at Abundant Life Church in Bardstown. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Simmons Keeling; two daughters, Clarissa (Donnie) Lambdin and Melissa Davis, both of Taylorsville; two sons, Navy Evan (Angie) Keeling II of Bloomfield and John Horn of Fairfield; two brothers, Johnny Keeling of Taylorsville and Ray (Mearl) Keeling of Cox’s Creek; one sister, Mona Gail Cheatham of Taylorsville; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral was Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville with Bro. Bobby Jewell officiating. Burial was in the Little Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the family.

The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements.
