Update: Armed man in custody after barricading himself in Deatsville area home

Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, 12:15 a.m. — The man who barricaded himself inside a home on Deatsville Loop was taken into custody late Monday night by the Kentucky State Police’s Special Response Team.
At about 8:51 p.m. the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched for a reported of a domestic situation involving two male family members in the home, one of whom was armed with a long gun and firing shots inside the home. Several deputies responded to evaluate the situation while the subject in the home continued to fire shots from time to time. The other male family member was in another room during the incident.
The Kentucky State Police’s Special Response Team members responded to the scene. Officers shut down traffic on Deatsville Loop and Deatsville Connector while the incident was ongoing.
The man — whose identity has not yet been released — was taken into KSP custody at about 11:38 p.m.
