A statement released Wednesday by Bardstown School Board Chairman Jim Roby praised Holsclaw’s performance as superintendent for 2017.

“After careful review of the standards and growth plans used to measure the superintendent’s performance, the Board of Education members agree that he has met and exceeded the vast majority of the standards,” the statement said.

The board’s superintendent looked at seven performance standards that evaluated how well the superintendent upheld the district’s mission statement and goals. In addition, the board identified two additional priorities they tasked Holsclaw to address in the past year that were identified when the district schools were undergoing the AdvancEd accreditation process.

Following the superintendent’s evaluation in executive session, Roby said in open session that Holsclaw received an “exemplary” rating in 7 categories, and moved from “accomplished” to “exemplary” in the other two for a total of overall score of 3.77 on a 4.0 evaluation scale.

In his official statement, Roby stated that “Our school system continues to be focused on developing the whole child, meeting the educational needs of each student, closing the achievement gap and maintaining our district’s distinguished status. Superintendent Holsclaw accomplishes this while implementing a tremendously tight and carefully managed budget.”

“We commend him for his work and look forward to the continued focus he brings to Bardstown City Schools.
