Obituary: Bryan Heady, 83, Bardstown

Bryan Heady, 83, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Thompson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore. He was born September 10, 1934 in Nelson County. He was a retired Heating and Air Engineer for Federal Government Civil Service, and also taught heating and air for Nelson County Technical School. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, he earned numerous awards while serving, he loved to fly single engine airplanes, and a member if Cox’s Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Stuart Heady; parents, Bryan & Cora Heady; and sisters, Polly Hall, Frances Spalding, Imogene Wright, Martha Hester.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Flahiff Heady; children, Brenda (Tony) Cecil, Rhonda (Ray) Chesser, Greta Heady; grandchildren, Troy (Heather) Cecil, Sarah (Jon) Nelson, Bryan (Heather) Cecil, Austen Chesser; great-grandchildren, Mireia Cecil, George Wilson, Sydney Shelonzek.

His funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Barlow Funeral Home, with a private burial held at Bardstown Cemetery. Pastor Jim Bratcher will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00 pm until 8:00pm Friday, December 22, 2017 and Saturday, December 23, 2017 from 9:00am until 11:00 am at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to Cox’s Creek Baptist Church and/or Oneida Baptist Institute.
