Obituary: Nicholas ‘Nick’ Irvin White, NV9V, 67, Hartford
Nicholas “Nick” Irvin White, 67, of Hartford, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. He was born Aug. 7, 1950, in Lexington to the late Irvin and Claudia Felty White. He was CEO of Retail Horizon Jewelers in Beaver Dam. He was a member of the Hartford City Council and a member of the Hartford Masonic Lodge #675 F&AM and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was the former buying and merchandising director of Signet, former executive vice president and chief operating officer of Zales, and former SVP of all day-to-day operation of Peoples.
He was a licensed Extra Class Amateur Radio operator who held the callsign NV9V. He was an active participant in the Kentucky Amateur Emergency Radio Service (KY ARES), and held a variety of leadership positions in the state and local radio organizations.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Peggy (Breehl) White of Hartford; one daughter, Adrienne (Alan) Nabours of Hartford; and two grandchildren, Aiden J. Nabours and Kenyan S. Nabours.
The memorial service is 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, at the Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
