Cox’s Creek Lane home damaged in early Thursday morning fire

Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 — There were no injuries reported Thursday morning when a Cox’s Creek home was damaged in an early morning house fire.

At about 2:38 a.m. Thursday, the Nelson County Fire Department was dispatched for a report of a structure fire at a home on North Cox’s Creek Drive in the Walnut Creek subdivision off Louisville Road.

Firefighters were accompanied by the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office and Nelson County EMS to the scene for the fire that was reported in the home’s basement area. The first firefighters who arrived reported heavy smoke was visible from the home’s lower level.

Firefighters reported having the fire knocked down by 3:45 a.m. Crews remained at the scene until approximately 6 a.m.
