Obituary: Jude Newton Mattingly, 59, Lebanon

Jude Newton Mattingly, 59, of Lebanon, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at Springview Hospital in Lebanon. He was born April 11, 1958, in Louisville. He was a former employee of P & D Wholesale and Hidgon’s Foodtown. He loved and cherished his family and was always appreciative, especially of his niece and healthcare advocate, Jessica Smith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Ed Mattingly Sr.; and one brother, Eddie Mattingly.

Survivors include his mother, Sally Newton Mattingly of Lebanon; one sister, Ellen McFall (Danny) of Lebanon; four brothers, Chris Mattingly (Beverly) of Columbus, Perry Mattingly (Marvell) of Lebanon, Paul Mattingly (Barry Boatman) of Seattle and Dan Mattingly (Danetta) of Frankfort; one sister-in-law, Denise Keeling of Bardstown; and a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great niece.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with Deacon Joseph R. Dant officiating. Burial is in the Holy Cross Cemetery.

Visitation is 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are nieces and nephews, Carolyn Beckley, Jim Eddie Mattingly, Barry Mattingly, Adam Mattingly, Lana Runkle, Jessica Smith, Virginia Varnell, Sarah Patten, Nathan Mattingly, Amara Mattingly, Hayley Abell, Macy McFall and Hope Hornung.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
