Obituary: James Bernard Linton, 72, New Haven

James Bernard Linton, 72, of New Haven, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, at Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served his country during the Vietnam Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Albert and Mary Mabel Linton; one son, Travis Wade Linton; and two brothers, Charlie and Fabian Linton.

He is survived by two daughters, Neicy Culver (Craig Newton) and Amanda Boone (Craig); three sons, Moogie Linton (Mandy Weakley), Matthew Linton (Molly), and Tommy James (Chandler) Linton; four sisters, Barbara Cissell, Louise Donahue, Dorothy Johnson, and Teeny Spalding; four brothers, Shorty Linton, Adam Linton, Googie Linton and Doosey Linton; 12 grandchildren; and his former wife, Anna June Cecil Linton.

The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Catholic Church with burial in the in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, and after 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.

Pallbearers will be, Moogie Linton, Matthew Linton, TJ Linton, Trevor Culver, Chase Linton, and Rob Keesy.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
