Obituary: Robert Eugene Keplinger, 74, Elizabethtown

Robert Eugene Keplinger, 74 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at his home. He was a native of Hardin County and a retired electrician.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Orville and Mary Elsie Helm Keplinger.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doris Masterson Keplinger; one daughter, Cindy (Bradley) Sage of Elizabethtown; his estranged son, Ronald Keplinger; four sisters, Beverly (Clyde) Grimes and Mary Lois (Don) Hill, both of Elizabethtown, Linda Mudd of Bardstown and Sandy (Paul) Foran of White Mills; one brother, Calvin (Paula) Keplinger of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Hannah Roby, Noah Roby and Jake Keplinger; a lifelong friend, Allan Edwards; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at the Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Chaplain Erik Gramling officiating. Burial is in the St. James Cemetery in Elizabethtown.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hardin Memorial Hospital Cancer Center or Hosparus.

The Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements.
