Obituary: Charles Dustin Yankey, 37, formerly of New Haven
Charles Dustin Yankey, 37, of Elizabethtown, formerly of New Haven, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was a member of the Bardstown Church of God. He was born Sept. 19, 1980 the son of the late Charles Moore and Melinda Yankey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served 18-1/2 years for his country before his medical retirement. He received several medal, citations and awards.
He is survived by two daughters, Shelby Elizabeth Yankey and Alexius Nicole Yankey, both of Boston; three sons, Charles James “C.J.” Yankey and Jacob Hunter Yankey, both of Boston and Daylin Yankey of Lexington; his mother, Melinda Yankey of Florida; one sisters, Amanda Metzler of Florida; one brother Michael Metzler of Florida; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral and burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, with full military rites in the Kentucky Veteran’s Central Cemetery in Radcliff. The Kentucky National Guard of Frankfort is conducting the services. In keeping with his wishes he was cremated.
The William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St. in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
