Obituary: Garner Back, 84, Fairborn

Garner Back, 84, of Fairborn, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2018. He was born Sept. 19, 1933, in Breathitt County, the son of the late Edison and Edith Back. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, watching baseball and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Back; and six siblings, Edgar, Hacker, Hager, Madge, Maise, and Marinda.

Survivors include six children, Jeffery (Sandy) Back, Greg (Marcia) Back, Jeanine Markwell, Cindy (Doug) Vanover, Kevin (Bess) Back, and Colleen Savakinas; five siblings, Homer, Jim, Nem, Lavonne, and Beth; 17 grandchildren, Shawn, Jason, Jeremy, Courtney, Melissa, Sammy, Tonya, Mindy, Heather, Kelly, Kyle, Lucas, Joshua, Christian, Rachel, Noah, and Michael; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Nichols officiating, Burial is in the Marshalls Family Cemetery in New Haven.

Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at the funeral home.
