Cox’s Station NSDAR to hold flag retirement ceremony June 14
Monday, June 6, 2011, 11:59 p.m. — The Cox’s Station Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, is sponsoring an official Flag Retirement Ceremony on June 14, 2011. This public event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Bardstown United Methodist Church Second Campus, 5100 Louisville Road (US 31E).
The Gov. Isaac Shelby Chapter, Kentucky Society Sons of the American Revolution, will serve as Color Guard and will also preside over the Flag Retirement and Flag Folding Ceremonies. This SAR chapter will be dressed in full American Revolutionary attire. The First Kentucky Brigade Band will provide period music for the event and be dressed in period costume also.
Special guests will be Kentucky Society Daughters of the American Revolution State Regent, Jessieanne Houck Wells and Rev. Forrest Bond Chilton, President of Kentucky Society Sons of the American Revolution.
