Obituary: Henry Lloyd Greenwell of New Haven

Henry Lloyd Greenwell of New Haven, died Jan. 12, 2018, at Norton’s Pavillion Hospital surrounded by his family. He was Catholic by faith, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and proudly served as a Military Police Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. He shared 59 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Helen Marie (Boone) Greenwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Josephine Greenwell; two brothers, James “Jimmy” Greenwell and Wade Greenwell; and one grandson, Christopher Dillon Yaeger.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Marie Boone Greenwell; eight sons, Alan (Kathy) Greenwell of Ellabelle, Ga., Maurice Greenwell of New Hope, Fred (Nicki) Greenwell of Bardstown, Curt (Angela) Greenwell and Kenneth Greenwell, both of Coxs Creek, and David (Anna) Greenwell, Ernest Greenwell, and Daniel (Dana Mattingly) Greenwell, all of New Haven; seven daughters, Teresa (Tom) Sims of Coxs Creek, Martha (Randy) Campbell of Woodstock, Ga., Jane (Chris) Lindsay of Louisville, Mary Jo (Ricky) Yaeger of Boston, and Diane (Richard) Rogers and Lisa Gill (Ray Morris), both of New Haven, and Linda (Mike) Goode of Springfield; 29 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family requests no flowers. Donations can be made to St. Catherine’s Church in New Haven for Masses in his name. A private memorial service will be held to celebrate his life.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St. in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
