Obituary: Verna Mae Caldwell, 89, Lebanon

Verna Mae Caldwell, 89, of Lebanon, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Village of Lebanon nursing center. She was born Sept. 2, 1928, in Marion County to the late William Kelly Bradshaw Sr. and Callista McCauley Bradshaw.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ambrose Caldwell; one son, Ted Caldwell; two sisters, Phyllis Likins and Maxine Nalley; two brothers, William Kelly Bradshaw Jr. and Andrew Bradshaw; and one grandson, Joshua Caldwell.

Survivors include one daughter, Harriet O’Daniel (Doug) of Lebanon; one son, Brad Caldwell of Louisville; seven sisters, Judy Bland (Pat) of Lebanon, Norita Thompson and Janice Thompson (Donnie), both of Loretto, Faye Wilson of Lebanon, Rosemary Leake and Darnell Hardin (Jerry), all of Springfield, and Wanda Culver of Bardstown; three brothers, Bobby Bradshaw of Springfield, Clayton Bradshaw of Lawrenceburg and Philip Bradshaw of Lebanon; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 235 South Spalding Avenue, Lebanon, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Terry Bradshaw and Rev. Jack Caldwell will concelebrate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home and 9-11 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Church with a 7 p.m. Sunday prayer service with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Pallbearers are Sean O’Daniel, Nicholas O’Daniel, Neil Caldwell, Troy Bradshaw, Fred Spalding and Austin Spalding.

The Mattingly Funeral Home of Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
