Anna Rhea Settles, 91, of Mount Washington, formerly of Bardstown

Anna Rhea Settles, 91, of Mount Washington, formerly of Bardstown, died Jan. 15, 2018.

She was the former editor of the old Mount Washington Star and the old Senior Life Magazine of Bullitt County. She was a retired employee of the old Publishers Printing Company. She was a member of the Hebron Presbyterian Church and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bardstown.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Norman “Bud” Settles; and two grandsons, Andrew Settles and Justin Settles.

She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Strange (Jeff) and Norma Mattingly (Dwayne); one son, Randolph Settles (Tammy); and five grandchildren, Joshua Pike (Alaina), Christopher Pike (Kaitlin Chmiel), John Settles, Savannah Farley (Jay) and Mallory Mattingly (Wade Prater).

The funeral was 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at the Schmid Funeral Home in Mount Washington with private burial in Big Springs Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mt. Washington Community Ministries or the American Cancer Society.

The Schmid Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
