Woodlawn-area man arrested early Sunday on theft-related charge

Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 — A Woodlawn Road man was arrested early Sunday morning by the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office on theft-related charges when officers investigated a report of a man pushing a trash can down Woodlawn Road.

At 3:47 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of Woodlawn Road after a passerby reported a man pushing a large trash can full of tools down the road. The caller stopped to check on the man, who ran away from the caller.

Police arrested Justin Brown, 32, and charged him with felony receiving stolen property. Officer later located two victims and returned their property to them.

A sheriff’s office press release states additional charges are anticipated.
