Obituary: Shirley Ann Stevens Rogers, 75, Finchville
Shirley Ann Stevens Rogers, 75, of Finchville, departed her Earthly life to her heavenly home Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018. She was born on Ashes Creek in Spencer County, the daughter of the late Charlie and Lillie Pearl Nichelson Stevens. After retiring from General Electric in Louisville after a career spanning 30 years, she worked for several years as a certified nursing assistant. She attended the New Hope Church of Taylorsville, and her memberships include Taylorsville Chapter 366 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Spending time with her family and friends was her most enjoyable pastime, and she will always be remembered for her dedication to helping others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Janice Chesser, Barbara Hardin, Mildred Hardin and twin sisters Rita Faye Stevens and Sandra Kay Stevens; and one brother, Kenneth Stevens.
Survivors include her husband, Everett Rogers of Finchville; her children, Gail Rogers and Gwen Cox (Ricky), both of Finchville, Roxanne Ruble (Keith) of Shelbyville, and Mickey Rogers (Kim) of Cox’s Creek; two sisters, Beulah Maddox of Taylorsville and Joyce Donovan (Danny) of Bloomfield; one brother, William Stevens (Brenda) of Bardstown; two grandsons, Mikie Blackburn of Elk Creek and Ethan Cox of Finchville; and her special nephew, Birdie Blackburn (Vanessa) of Elk Creek.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville, with the Rev. Joe Vires officiating.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at the funeral home.
