Carolyn Sue Brown Culver Vernon, 69, Cecilia

Carolyn Sue Brown Culver Vernon, 69, of Cecilia, formerly of Lebanon Junction, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was a member of the Baptist faith and retired after 22 years with Communicare in Elizabethtown.

She was born April 17, 1942, to Homer Boyd and Anna Ruth Fowler Brown. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Conway L. Culver; her second husband, Luther Marvin Vernon; and one sister, Martha Ann Brown Ford.

Survivors include two sons, Bruce Jeffrey “Jeff” Culver of Cecilia and Timothy Shyne Culver of Burgin; one brother, H.B. Brown of Lebanon Junction; one brother-in-law, Leonard “Buddy” Ford of New Haven; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven with the Rev. Chuck Waters officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in New Haven.

Visitation is Thursday, June 9, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven, is in charge of arrangements.
