Obituary: Janet Sturtz Waters, 85, Cox’s Creek

Janet Sturtz Waters, 85, of Cox’s Creek, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at her residence. She was born July 19, 1932, in Cincinnati to the late Joseph Louis and Elizabeth C. Bickett Sturtz. She was a former paralegal for Stites & Harbison Law Firm in Louisville.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Waters of Louisville and Karen Kinser (Wes Priddy) of Cox’s Creek; one son, Charlie Waters of Cox’s Creek; three sisters, Betty Koch of Dallas, Jeri Shand of Roanoke, Va., and Chris Bryant of Louisville; four grandchildren, Jessica Millward, Spencer Parks, Evan Kinser and John Michael Raque; and two great-great-grandchildren, Lyra Millward and Aiden Parks.

The family followed her wishes with a non-ceremonial cremation. A private memorial service is noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at 230 Antlers Trace in Cox’s Creek.
