Obituary: David C. Holderman, 65, Bardstown

DAVID C. HOLDERMAN

David C. Holderman, 65, of Bardstown, died at 10:35 p.m., Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at his home. He was born April 11, 1952, in Lebanon to the late Chester and Juanita Coulter Holderman. He was a 1970 graduate of Washington County High School, a member of the Springfield Baptist Church and attended the First Christian Church of Bardstown. He served on the Nelson County Fair Board for more than 30 years. He was a member and former President and Vice-President of the Nelson County Jaycees and was a retired employee of the Ford Motor Company where he worked for 33 years.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Keene Holderman; two daughters, Shelley Mattingly (Daniel) of Lebanon and Stacy Hill (Dale) of Bardstown; one sister, Angela Smith (Reed) of Upton; six grandchildren, Eli Hill, Ean Hill, Tate Hill, Charley Marie Hill, Delaney Mattingly and Gracyn Mattingly; and one nephew and three nieces.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at the Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Justin Compton and Bro. John Powell officiating. Burial is in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield and after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to; The American Cancer Society.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Reed Smith and Brandon Smith. Serving as pallbearers will be George Wright, Gerry Boone, Tommy Donahue, Keith Willett, Gary Mattingly and Terry Nalley.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
