Monday, Jan. 29, 2018 — Boston resident and former deputy clerk Jeanette Sidebottom filed Monday afternoon as a Democratic candidate for Nelson County clerk.

Sidebottom has 12 years of experience as a deputy clerk — 10 years working under Phyllis Mattingly, and two years under current county clerk Elaine Filiatreau.

Sidebottom said she’s ready to go back to work for the people of the county in the clerk’s office and helping provide the kind of service to the public the office did under former Clerk Phyllis Mattingly.

“Public service is what I enjoy,” she said.

Sidebottom was born in the Maple Hill neighborhood of Bardstown and credits her first job working for the Thompson family as instilling in her a solid work ethic and an appreciation of serving the public.

She has been a candidate for county clerk twice in the past. She thanked the number of her supporters who have encouraged her to run for the office this year, and said she’s ready to put her leadership skills back to work as the next county clerk.
